Accessibility Statement
My Commitment
I am committed to making this portfolio accessible to everyone, including people with disabilities. I aim to meet WCAG 2.2 Level AA (opens in a new tab). Right now the site partly meets it, and the gaps I know about are listed under Known Limitations.
Accessibility Features
Keyboard Navigation
Everything interactive works with a keyboard. Tab moves through links and buttons, Enter activates them, and Escape closes the mobile menu or the chat.
Skip Links
A skip-to-content link is available for keyboard users to bypass navigation and jump directly to main content.
Focus Indicators
Clear visible focus states help keyboard users track their position on the page.
Reduced Motion Support
Animations respect the prefers-reduced-motion media query for users who prefer minimal motion.
Semantic HTML
Proper heading hierarchy and semantic elements improve screen reader navigation and understanding.
Color Contrast
Text and interactive elements maintain sufficient color contrast ratios for readability.
Alt Text
Images include descriptive alternative text for screen reader users.
Responsive Design
Pages reflow to a 320px-wide screen and to 400% zoom without sideways scrolling.
Known Limitations
While I strive for full accessibility, some areas may have limitations:
- The AI chat needs JavaScript and sends your question to an AI service, so answers take a few seconds and can be wrong. If it doesn't work for you, the About, Experience, Projects and Resume pages cover my background, or you can email me.
- External sites I link to, such as Medium, Dev.to, Substack, GitHub and Cal.com, may have their own accessibility limitations.
- The resume PDF is generated from the /resume page, and I haven't checked it with a PDF accessibility tool yet. The /resume page has the same content as a regular web page.
How I Checked
On September 26 and 27, 2026, I ran automated accessibility checks on every page, then tested the site with only a keyboard, in Chrome's simulated high-contrast mode, at 400% zoom and with extra text spacing. On September 28, I ran the same checks again on the rebuilt AI chat. I haven't tested it with a screen reader yet.
